Stress-Busting Smoothie - dummies

By Erin Palinski-Wade, Tara Gidus, Kristina LaRue

Finding it difficult to get your daily greens? This flat-belly smoothie recipe uses fresh spinach, a very mild-flavored green vegetable that you won’t even taste in this drink! Mix it up by tossing in other greens, like Swiss chard or kale.

Certain nutrients reduce the amount of stress hormones in your body. By decreasing these hormones, you can reduce the amount of stress-generated fatty acids in your midsection, helping to fight off belly fat. This smoothie recipe includes stress fighters such as potassium (in the coconut water), vitamin C (spinach and strawberries), and omega-3 fatty acids (chia seeds).
