Slow Cooker Turkey Lasagne for your Flat-Belly Diet
Who says comfort food can’t be healthy? In this flat-belly recipe, cottage cheese replaces some of the ricotta cheese, giving this dish less fat and extra protein. Whole-grain noodles are substituted for white noodles for extra fiber, and ground turkey breast replaces ground beef to reduce the fat content even more!
Sauté mushrooms, spinach, olive oil, salt, and pepper for a quick and healthy side dish, or pair with a side salad for a dose of leafy greens!

Yield: 6 servings
12 ounces ground turkey breast
2 cups no-salt-added tomato sauce
1/2 cup low-fat reduced-sodium cottage cheese
1/2 cup part-skim reduced-sodium ricotta cheese
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasonings
3/4 cup part-skim reduced-sodium mozzarella cheese
8 whole-grain no-boil lasagna noodles
In a large skillet, brown the turkey breast. After cooking, combine the turkey with 1-1/2 cups of the tomato sauce.
In a small bowl, mix together the cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, egg, and Italian seasonings.
Coat a 5-quart oblong-shaped slow cooker with cooking spray. Place the remaining 1/2 cup tomato sauce in the slow cooker.
Break the lasagna noodles to fit the bottom of the cooker.
Layer the noodles with the cheese mixture and the meat sauce.
Repeat with noodles, cheese, and meat sauce with two additional layers.
Top with mozzarella cheese.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 3-1/2 hours.
