Prepared the night before, this belly-friendly slow-cooker recipe combines apples and cinnamon, creating a delicious breakfast. Starting out with the right breakfast will curb your appetite and help you burn belly fat throughout the day.

Apples are rich in the flavonoid quercetin, which has been shown to block fat cells from maturating and helps to fight inflammation. This antioxidant makes apples a great metabolism booster and belly blaster.

You can use Granny Smith, Gala, or Red Delicious in this recipe. And for more variety, try ginger, pumpkin pie spice, or cardamom for a twist.

Yield: 6 servings

8 Honeycrisp apples

1 teaspoon cinnamon

2 tablespoons orange juice

  1. Peel and core the apples.

  2. Cut the apples into cubes, and place them in a slow cooker.

  3. Add the cinnamon and orange juice.

  4. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 8 hours.

  5. Mash the apples to reach the desired consistency.

  6. Serve hot or chilled.
