Berry Baked Apples for Your Flat Belly Diet

This flat belly recipe for baked apples is super quick and easy because you prepare it in your microwave. Cinnamon is a natural spice for this fruity snack or dessert.

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 8 minutes

Yield: 4 servings

4 baking apples, such as Rome Beauty, Fuji, or Northern Spy

1/2 cup dried fruit, such as blueberries, raisins, or cranberries

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 cup frozen, fresh, or drained canned blueberries

1/2 cup apple juice

  1. With a paring knife or apple corer, remove the cores from the apples.

  2. With a knife, peel the top half of the apples.

  3. In a small bowl, toss the dried fruit and cinnamon. Set aside.

  4. In each of four microwavable bowls (each large enough to hold one apple), place 2 tablespoons of the blueberries and 2 tablespoons of the apple juice.

  5. Place the prepared apple on top of the blueberries, and evenly divide the dried fruit mixture into the cavities and around the apples.

  6. Loosely cover each apple with plastic wrap or wax paper.

  7. Microwave until the apples are tender, about 4-1/2 to 5 minutes. Allow to cool.

  8. Cover and refrigerate, if desired.

  9. Serve warm or cold.
