How to Use Images for Visual Social Marketing on Your LinkedIn Company Page

By Krista Neher

The LinkedIn profile page can display three types of images for visual social marketing: home page image, standard logo, and square logo. As you can see, these images are a powerful way to visually brand your page.

Home page image

The home page image is displayed toward the top of the company page on LinkedIn. It’s a powerful branding opportunity because the image is relatively large. The home page image should be a minimum of 646 pixels x 220 pixels and must be either a PNG, JPEG, or GIF file. The maximum image size of the home page image is 2 megabytes.

Logo image

The logo, which should be the official logo of your company, is displayed in the upper-left corner of the LinkedIn page. The logo also appears on a profile page to the right of the text work experience for your company. The logo image should be 100 pixels x 60 pixels, and it must be in GIF, JPEG, or PNG format with a maximum size of 2 megabytes.

Square logo

The square logo is used across LinkedIn as the equivalent of a profile photo. For example, when you see an update from a page in your newsfeed on LinkedIn, the square logo is used as a profile photo to represent the page. Because the logo image isn’t square, the square logo is used in places where a square image is needed to represent a page.

You can choose to upload an image of any size; however, it will be resized to 50 x 50 pixels. The images must be formatted as PNG, JPEG, or GIF files, and they have a maximum size of 2 megabytes.

As you scroll down the page, all three profile images are displayed.

  3. Click the Edit or Add Image button below the image you want to edit.

  4. Choose to remove the existing image or upload a new image and select the file from your computer.
