Install Evernote on Windows Computers

You can download Evernote for your mobile devices at Evernote. Evernote is free of charge for all supported devices, and you can download all the versions you need for all your devices.

Evernote supports all versions of Windows 7, Vista, and Windows XP, and they all install from the same download.

To install Evernote on a Windows PC, follow these steps:

  1. If you haven’t already done so, navigate to Evernote and click Download for Windows.

    You’re taken to Evernote Downloads, and the download should start automatically. If it doesn’t, click the Click Here link.

  2. When the download is complete, and you’re prompted to do so, click Run.

    When the download has completed, Windows will ask if you want to run the installation program. You may see a message telling you to close some open applications.

  3. Click OK to close open applications.

    If you don’t, installation will proceed, but a reboot may be required.

  4. If you’re asked whether to permit the Windows Installer to install Evernote, click Yes.

  5. Click Next in the next screen.

  6. Click Finish in the next screen.

  7. Click Start to start Evernote for Windows.

    Drag the Evernote icon to your taskbar to pin it so that you can start Evernote easily without any fumbling around.

  8. Close Evernote.

    Evernote for Windows is installed on your PC. The Getting Started with Evernote page usually opens in your browser. If not, navigate to Getting Started with Evernote.
