How to Save Photos in Evernote for Windows

By David E. Y. Sarna

Saving images in Evernote for Windows is similar to saving notes with audio files attached; you can save multiple images in a single note. You can work with images on a website, which you can clip into a note, or you can work with individual image files.

The best way to add an image file is to drag and drop it into a note, but this method has limitations. You can save as many files as you want to a note, but each note has a size limit based on your account type, so make sure that you’re aware of that limit when you start to add images.

When Evernote for Windows detects that a webcam is installed, a new command appears on the File menu, allowing you to capture photos in notes.

  1. Choose New Note→New Webcam Note or press Ctrl+Shift+W.

The New Webcam Note window opens, displaying the video image captured by the webcam.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Click Take Snapshot to capture the image.

    • Click Cancel to close the capture window. Evernote creates a blank note, which you need to delete manually.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • Click Retake Snapshot if you’re not happy with the image.

    • Click Save to Evernote to load the snapshot into a note.

    • Click Cancel to abandon the task. Evernote doesn’t create a blank note.
