Using the Salesforce AppExchange to Measure User Adoption
The AppExchange is Salesforce’s marketplace for business apps. Think of it like the App Store for Salesforce. You can use the AppExchange to add or install thousands of custom apps (many of which are free!) to enhance standard functionality in Salesforce. One area that is particularly relevant revolves around user adoption. As you know, even if you build the slickest system in Salesforce, it’ll be useless (and expensive) if your users don’t use it.
Luckily, there are some great free apps in the AppExchange to encourage and monitor whether your users are logging in and using the system you’ve so graciously given them. Let’s look at some of the highlights:
Salesforce Adoption Dashboards: This app is free, compatible with Lightning, and contains more than 40 reports and 3 dashboards to help monitor adoption, such as user login history, the users who’ve logged the most activities recently, or when certain reports were last run.
Salesforce1 Adoption Dashboard and Reports: Use this free app to keep an eye on how often users are logging into the Salesforce1 mobile app you roll out.
AdoptionMax – User Adoption Management: This free app takes adoption a step further by sending out notifications to users, their managers, or others after someone hasn’t logged in after a given period of time. It even shows the cost of that person’s inactivity!
Log in to the AppExchange to see other installable packages to track and incentivize your user activity in Salesforce. There are paid apps that can do things like offer context and tips as users navigate through the system, as well as gamification apps that encourage desired behaviors by awarding points to users.
