How to Effectively Use SlideShare

By Chris Pichereau, Abshier House

Grab your viewers’ attention from the beginning using SlideShare. SlideShare, and the Internet in general, are competing for viewers every second. Finding something else to view or read is just a click away. So use splashy, strong eye-catching colors and images.

Here is a great example:

In addition, keep your messages simple, clear, and to the point. Simplicity helps keep your current topic focused for yourself and your audience while allowing you to expound and explain with more natural freedom.

Use images that bring emotions into play. Human faces are great to use because they evoke a reaction from your viewers. They become engaged in the topic more easily when they see other people’s faces:

Also, consider using unique fonts to keep the reading interesting. Just make sure that the font style is simple enough to be read easily. Keep away from elaborate handwriting fonts like old English.

Provide useful or memorable information that people can remember. Such as, “40% of binge eaters are men!” or “Out of approximately 7,500 people who are bitten by a venomous snake every year, only five die!”

Have fun and tell a story with your presentation. Having a beginning, middle, and end will make it easier for you to present and easier for your audience to remember.
