Using the Google+ App to View a Nearby Stream

By Jesse Stay

A unique feature of the Google+ mobile app is the nearby stream — a stream of updates from people closest to your current location on Google+. This feature can provide a great way to find Google+ users who live near you or are participating near your current location.

To access the nearby stream on Google+, do the following:

  1. Open the Google+ mobile web in a web browser or tap Stream from your splash page in the Google+ app.

  2. Swipe to the right and you’re taken to the Nearby stream.

On Android devices (and likely iOS devices soon), you can also reshare any post you see in your stream just as you can on the web. To reshare a post on your Android device, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the post you’d like to reshare.

  2. On the resulting screen for that post, tap the “…” button in the upper right and then tap Share This Post in the drop-down menu.
