Discover Online Courses to Expand Your Mindfulness Experience

Mindfulness has been taught face to face for centuries. However, with the advent of the Internet, you are not limited to the United Kingdom or wherever you call home; you have the potential to learn mindfulness anywhere on the planet, without meeting your teacher face to face. Mindfulness is open to everyone.

Shamash’s organisation, Learn Mindfulness, specialises in teaching mindfulness, and much of that is online. Three courses are available, and many more are in the pipeline. Here are the options you can currently choose from:

  • Shamash’s 21-day Mindfulness E-Course. This is a free email-based course that you can start at any time. The course is ideal for beginners to mindfulness, looking for more peace, calm, focus or productivity. Every day, for three weeks, you get an email from Shamash with something new to learn about mindfulness and a recommended mindfulness meditation or exercise on that day.

    As you continue through the course, you learn more subtle ideas and deeper concepts. The emails are short and sweet, so you won’t use up too much time reading them. The course works well with Mindfulness Workbook For Dummies and audio, and Mindfulness For Dummies.

  • Live Mindful – an eight-week online course. This is the most popular online course offered (for a fee). The course is based on scientifically proven transformative mindfulness techniques. Each week Shamash gives you home practice to do daily, and the course includes mindfulness audios you can download. You can start the course anytime, work at your own pace and interact with other participants if you want to.

  • Teach Mindfulness – a ten-week online course. If you’re experienced in mindfulness and thinking of integrating teaching mindfulness into your work, this is the course for you! This course is popular among counsellors, psychotherapists, life coaches, executive coaches, mental health nurses, medical doctors and yoga teachers.

    If you apply for and get a place on the course, you need to do some background reading and are required to write a short teaching manual for your assessment. Successful completion results in a certificate, permitting you to integrate mindfulness with your professional work.
