How to Use Split View on Your iPad
When you rotate an iPad running iOS 10 in landscape mode, you have the option to display a split view in Safari, with two web pages each claiming half the screen. This handy little feature opens up a new world of possibilities.
You can imagine all sorts of scenarios where such a dual view would be useful. Perhaps you’re trying to decide between two cars. Or checking out two dress designs. Or exploring a couple of different places to go on vacation.
In typical Apple fashion, you can arrive at this split view in more than one way:
- Press and hold down on a link on a web page, and then tap Open in Split View.
- Two-finger tap on a link. It opens on the other side of the screen.
- Drag a tab to the right edge of the screen and release.
To exit Split View, tap the x-in-a-circle at the top of one of the visible web pages. The other will take over the entire display.
