Get Free Games with Sony’s PSPgo Rewards Plan – Europe Only

If you’re living in Europe and switching from a PSP (PlayStation Portable) to a PSPgo, then Sony’s PSPgo Rewards plan can help with a bump in the transition. (Sony has no such rewards plan for U.S. owners.) The PSPgo has great new features — and one major problem: You can’t use the old PSP’s UMD games in the new PSPgo. The rewards plan makes up for some of what you’ll lose by giving you three free downloadable games.

To qualify for the PSPgo Rewards program you have to already have a PSP (though it doesn’t matter which version you have) and at least one UMD game.

You have only until March 31, 2010, so crank up your PSPgo and follow these directions to download your three free games:

  1. Start up your new PSPgo and connect to PlayStation Network.

  2. Log on to the PlayStation Network and activate the PSPgo Rewards program.

You can use a new or existing account.

  3. Turn on your old PSP and connect to PlayStation Network.

Use the same account that you used in Step 2.

  4. Launch the PlayStation Store.

  5. Put a UMD in to the old PSP and register on PSPgo Rewards when prompted.

  6. Download a free PSPgo theme.

  7. Check your email.

You’ll be receiving a voucher for three free games.

  8. When you receive the voucher, log back into the PSPgo Rewards section of the PlayStation Network and choose the three games you want to download.

You can choose to replace an old UMD game or download an entirely new one.

There are 17 games available in the PSPgo Rewards program: Wipeout Pure, Buzz Brain Bender, Buzz Master Quiz, SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo, Killzone Liberation, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, Everybody’s Golf, Medievil, Resistance: Retribution, Syphon Filter Dark Mirror, Lemmings, LocoRoco, Patapon, Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow, Echochrome, Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice, and Daxter.
