How to Activate Voice Input on the Nexus 7 Keyboard
The Nexus 7 has the amazing ability to interpret your utterances and mumblings as text using the voice input. You may find your typing errors cause you to continually backtrack to make corrections, or that you need your hands free for multi=tasking. Luckily for you, the voice input works almost as well as computer dictation in science fiction movies, though it seems there isn’t a command to destroy planet Alderaan.
The voice input for the Nexus 7 offers versatility to users. It can be a very handy feature. To ensure that voice input is listening to you and available with the onscreen keyboard, obey these steps:
At the Home screen, touch the All Apps button.
Open the Settings icon to run the Settings app.
Choose Language & Input.
Ensure that there’s a check mark in the box by the item Google Voice Typing.
If not, touch the box to place a check mark there.
Touch the Home button to return to the Home screen.
The Microphone button now appears on the onscreen keyboard. Using this microphone button, you can access the voice input option at any time once it is installed.
