The ACT comprises several different test sections, and each section has its own time limit. Here, you will find how many questions each ACT section has and how much time you have to answer them.

English 75 45 minutes
Mathematics 60 60 minutes
Reading 40 35 minutes
Science 40 35 minutes
Writing (optional) 1 30 minutes

If you add up the numbers, you find that you have 216 questions to answer in 205 minutes You get one 10-minute break between the second and third tests (the Mathematics and Reading Tests). If you opt not to take the optional Writing Test, then you get to walk out right after the Science Test.
