How to Create a New Contact on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3

By Dan Gookin

Sometimes, it’s necessary to create a contact on your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 when you meet another human being in the real world or, perhaps, when you’re stalking them and already have an abundance of info. In either case, you have a contact to create, and the process commences thusly:

  1. Open the Contacts app.

Ensure that the Contacts tab is selected at the top of the screen.

  2. Touch the Add New Contact button.

The icon looks like a plus sign, similar to the one shown in the margin.

  3. If prompted, choose an account as the place to store the contact.

Many people recommend choosing Google, although if you use Yahoo! as your main online storage repository and that option is presented as a choice, choose it instead.

  4. Fill in the information on the Create Contact screen as the contact begrudgingly gives you information.

Fill in the text fields with the information you know: the name, phone, e-mail address, and so on.

To add a field, such as a second phone number, touch the green Plus icon on the touchscreen. To remove a field, touch the red Minus icon.

Touch the gray button to the left of the phone number to specify the type of number, such as Home, Work, or Mobile. The same type of button is found to the left of the Email and Address fields.

To fill in even more information, touch the Add Another Field button at the bottom of the list.

  5. Touch the Save button to complete the editing and add the new contact.

You can also create new contacts by using your Gmail account on a computer. This option offers you the luxury of using a full-size keyboard and roomy computer screen.
