Switch to Different Windows 8 Tasks from Jump Lists

The Windows 8 taskbar enables you to jump to other tasks by right-clicking the taskbar’s icons. Right-clicking the Internet Explorer icon produces a Jump List of your recently visited websites. Click any site on the list to make a quick return visit.

Here’s a look at Jump Lists for (l. to r.) Internet Explorer, File Explorer, and Windows Media Center:


The Jump List pop-up menus add a new trick to the taskbar: They let you jump quickly to previously visited locations, letting you work more quickly.

The Jump Lists tab of the Taskbar Properties dialog box placates privacy seekers. It lets you prevent Jump Lists from remembering where you’ve been, so others don’t see those places in your Jump Lists.
