By Peter Weverka

Quick Status settings appear on the Windows 10 Lock screen to show you what’s what. You also can change these settings to suit the way in which you work.

  1. To change these settings, open the Start screen and select Settings. On the Settings screen, select Personalization. On the Personalization screen, select Lock Screen.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Lock screen settings to the Choose Apps to Show Quick Status item, as shown.

Some apps can display quick status information on the Lock screen. For example, Mail displays the number of unread messages in the Mail app.

  3. To add an app to the Lock screen, select one of the plus signs and choose an app name on the pop-up menu.

  4. To change one of the current apps, select its icon and then choose a different app on the pop-up menu.

  5. To remove an app from the Lock screen, select it and choose Don’t Show Quick Status Here on the pop-up menu.

  6. Return to the Start screen.
