How to Choose a Twitter Background Image for Visual Social Marketing
When you set up a Twitter account for visual social marketing, one type of image that’s required for your profile is the background image — it’s displayed behind the Twitter profile.
At the top of the Design Settings screen, Twitter allows you to choose from a number of premade themes. A premade theme applies a premade background to your Twitter profile and applies a matching background and link colors. You can preview premade themes by clicking them to generate a preview.
After you select a theme, click Save Changes at the bottom of the screen to save your changes.
In addition to the premade themes displayed at the top of the screen, Twitter provides an option to generate a premade background. Below the premade themes is the Check Out Themeleon link. Clicking it opens a new site that has thousands of patterns and color palettes that you can use to customize your Twitter account.
You’re prompted to log in to your Twitter account to get started on Themeleon. The background patterns and images are applied to your background, and the color palettes are applied to the other color settings on your profile. Select a background image and a color palette that are compatible with the rest of the visual assets in your Twitter profile.
After you select the background pattern and color palette, you see the Save Profile button. If you don’t see it, you may see one labeled Login to Twitter.
If you’re prompted to authorize the Themeleon application (from COLOURlovers) to access your Twitter account, choose to give the application access so that your selections can be added to your account. (You have to do this the first time you use the application.) After you authorize the application, click the Save Profile button.
After you save your profile, you see a notification that your stylish profile has been saved. The application should bring you back to view your profile.
