How to Set Up Your Fire Tablet
When you turn the Fire tablet on for the first time, you see a series of screens that help you set up and register the device. Don’t worry: There aren’t many questions, and you know all the answers.
At some point during this setup procedure, you may be prompted to plug your adapter in, if your battery charge is low. You may also be notified that the latest Fire operating system is downloading and that you have to wait for that process to complete before you can move forward.
In most cases Amazon will have pre-registered your Amazon account to the device so you shouldn’t have to register it yourself. However, if you don’t have an Amazon account, you’ll get a chance to create one during setup. During the setup procedure you’ll also make choices about your language and country, time zone, and the Wi-Fi connection you’ll use to go online.
After you work your way through the setup prompts, you see a Welcome screen. Tap Get Started to see the first of several screens that help you learn to navigate the Fire tablet by swiping left, up, and down on its screen. At the end of the series, on the screen titled Congratulations, tap Finish to go to the Fire tablet Home screen.
When you register your Fire tablet to your Amazon account, a Kindle email address is created. You can use this email address to send or have other people send documents to you, which then appear in your Docs library on your Fire tablet, or photos, which appear in your Photos app.
