How to Set Up an Email Account on Your Fire Tablet

The Email app on your Fire tablet is what’s referred to as an email client, which means that it doesn’t provide an email account but provides the means of connecting with an email account or accounts allowing to work with them from the Email app.

Setting up your email on a Fire tablet involves providing information about one or more email accounts that you’ve already established with a provider such as Gmail.

Follow these steps to set up an email account the first time you use the app:

  1. Tap Email in the Favorites Grid.

    The Mail app appears.

  2. From the Inbox, tap the Left Nav button.

    The Left Nav panel appears.

  3. Tap Settings.

  4. Tap Add Account.

    The dialog box shown here appears.

  5. Enter your email address and then tap Next.

  6. Enter your password and then tap Next.

    Fire verifies your account and displays a Setup Complete screen.

  7. Choose to go to the email Inbox or add another account.

    You can set up as many email accounts as you like. When you open the Email app, you see a Unified Inbox that combines messages from all accounts you set up, as well as individual Inboxes for each account.
