Bad Solution Park Rules for Triz

Part of TRIZ For Dummies Cheat Sheet

Triz is designed to help you with problems. Keeping that in mind, it is only helpful if you know how to approach these issues. Here are some Bad Solution Park rules that might be helpful.

  1. Whenever you have an idea, write it down – no matter how wacky, weak, impractical, outrageous or poorly developed.

  2. Everyone contributes – everyone has a pen and sticky notes and can add to the Bad Solution Park at any time.

  3. Don’t judge ideas too soon – think of constraints and practicalities later.

  4. Be positive about ideas – both your own and other people’s.

  5. Don’t get obsessed with one idea – come up with lots.

  6. Build on and improve on other people’s ideas.

  7. Capture questions, comments and problems too.
