Amazon’s 1-Click purchasing option lets you purchase and download now e-books for your Kindle 2 or Kindle DX with only a single clickl. You enter your credit card information before you make your first purchase, and from then on, Amazon automatically charges the purchase price to your account whenever you make a selection. You don't have to reenter the billing information every time!

You need a credit card issued in the United States and a mailing address in the United States to purchase content for the Kindle.

Follow these steps from your computer to set up 1-Click purchasing:

  1. Navigate to the Kindle Sign In page.

  2. Enter the e-mail address and password you use for Amazon.com and then click Sign In Using Our Secure Server.

    The Manage Your Kindle page appears. This is where you go when you need to check subscriptions or verify whether you have ordered or received content you want.

  3. Scroll down to the heading Your Default 1-Click Payment Method, and if you need to make a change, click Edit next to the credit card number currently on file.

    You go to the Your Default 1-Click Payment Setting page.

  4. Click the circle next to the credit card you want to use, or click Pay with New Card and enter the new card information.

  5. Click Continue.

  6. On the next page, click Use This Address above the mailing address you want to use, or enter a new address in the boxes provided.

    Your browser returns to the original Manage Your Kindle page, where your payment information is displayed.

Congratulations! You’ve completed the boring paperwork part of setting up your Kindle. Now you can get to the fun part: finding and downloading fun things to read.
