Selling and Promoting with LinkedIn Showcase Pages

By Jan Zimmerman, Deborah Ng

LinkedIn provides you with the perfect opportunity to highlight products and services with Showcase Pages. Showcase Pages are stand-alone pages that you can use to announce product launches, websites, events, and any kind of product, service, or opportunity.

Use Showcase Pages to highlight individual products, events, or services.

Basically, you have individual LinkedIn pages where you can engage your community and share a particular aspect of your business. For example, if your company is umbrella to several smaller brands, you can use a Company Page as your main page with the smaller brands highlighted in the Showcase Pages.

Only a Company Page administrator can create Showcase Pages. Before you begin, you need to know the following:

  • The name of the Showcase Page

  • A short and sweet description — up to 200 characters

  • The industry your page falls under

  • The name of at least one Showcase Page administrator assigned to each page.

You also need to have a hero image (meaning a cover image) for your Showcase Page, preferably one highlighting the showcased item, as well as two logo images.

Here are the specifications for your Showcase Page’s images:

  • Hero image: A minimum of 974 x 300 pixels; PNG, JPEG, or GIF format. You can play around and crop the image after you upload it.

  • Logos: 100 x 60 pixels. If you’re a little off, LinkedIn will resize it to fit.

To create a Showcase Page, follow these steps:

  1. While on your Company Page, select the down‐pointing arrow located next to the Edit button.

  2. From the drop‐down list that appears, select Create a Showcase Page.

  3. Enter the Showcase Page’s name (for example, the name of the item you’re showcasing) and the person who will be administrator in the appropriate fields.

  4. Click Create.

You can now see what the page will look like. If you’re happy, go on to the next step. Otherwise, make any necessary edits.

  5. Click Publish to make the Showcase Page go live.

Unfortunately, you can’t easily unpublish a LinkedIn Showcase Page. To remove a Page, you have to contact LinkedIn and ask them to remove it for you. Choose wisely when it comes to the products and services you’re showcasing because you can’t delete at will.

LinkedIn provides you with some wonderful tools to promote your business and drive sales. Don’t miss this opportunity to reach a whole new audience.
