When you list your item for sale on eBay, you want to attract your potential buyers’ interest as much as possible. Although eBay’s display options aren’t quite as effective as a three-story neon sign in Times Square, they do bring greater attention to your auction.

Bold is an inexpensive option that affects the look of your title in searches. The eBay fee for bold is $2.00 ($4.00 for a 30-day listing). Bold type does catch your attention but don’t bother using it on items that’ll bring in less than $25.00. Do use it if you’re in hot competition with similar items and you want yours to stand out.

If you qualify, you can choose another (more expensive) option that affects where on eBay your item might be seen. If you are a Top-rated seller, you can add a Featured First option to your listing. When you do, your item listing appears at the top of its listing category when it is displayed in a Best Match sort. The charge for this option is $24.95 ($74.95 for a 30-day listing).
