Interview Prep: Answering Difficult Questions

Congratulations! You have an interview! Now what? You will want to prepare yourself for the questions you will likely be asked. Here are a few and some possible answers to consider:

The "where do you see yourself in five years?" Question can be a difficult one to answer, especially when you can&apost decide what to eat for lunch! The best way to prepare for this type of tricky question is to have a few professional goals in mind before you go into the meeting. Relating those goals to the organization you're interviewing with will show that you're serious about the opportunity and willing to invest your time, and that in return, they should invest in you.

"Why do you want to leave your job?" is another question that can cause you to become tongue tied. Be sure to focus on the positive, and not use this as an opportunity to air your grievances against your current employer. Saying things like, "I'm looking for a workplace that is willing to mentor and provide professional guidance to me", or "where I can make a positive contribution to the corporate culture", shows the interviewer that you're willing to learn and be a part of their team.
