The texture of your green smoothie is also a matter of personal taste. Some people enjoy a thick green smoothie and actually prefer to eat it with a spoon, like a soup. Others prefer a much more drinkable or juice-like consistency. As you try new recipes, you can experiment with different textures and choose what works best for you.

If your smoothie seems too thick, add half a cup of water and blend again. If you still see green leaves that haven’t been broken down by the blender blades, add another cup of water and blend again. If the smoothie is too watery, add two tablespoons of ground flaxseed and blend again.

Don’t forget to put the lid of the blender back on as you adjust the taste and blend again; otherwise, you may end up with green smoothie on your ceiling!
