If you use USPS as the shipping carrier for your Etsy shop, you can ship through PayPal, even if your buyer paid using another method. Not only does PayPal not charge extra for this service, but it's cheaper than going through the USPS. Plus, as always, if you ship Priority Mail, delivery confirmation is free. (If you opt for First Class, you're automatically charged 19¢ for delivery confirmation.)

You know, you don't have to use PayPal to buy postage and print shipping labels online. If you're shipping via USPS, you can also use Endicia or the USPS website's Click-N-Ship feature.

To use PayPal to ship an item you've sold, follow these steps:

Type www.paypal.com in your Web browser's address bar and log in to your PayPal account.

Type <span class="code">www.paypal.com</span> in your Web browser's address bar and log in to your PayPal account.

The My Account page opens.

If your buyer purchased the item using PayPal, click the Payments Received link; then click the Print Shipping Label link that appears alongside the transaction entry for the item that you want to ship.

If your buyer used a different method of payment, type the following URL into your web browser’s address bar: www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_ship-now. The Create Your Shipping Label page opens.

If the recipient paid via PayPal, her details — first name, last name, mailing address, and, optionally, e-mail address — are added automatically; if not, enter them in the appropriate fields.

To make sure that you don’t enter any of the buyer’s info incorrectly, consider copying and pasting it from the invoice. If the buyer’s shipping address on Etsy differs from the one on PayPal, check with the buyer to see which one is correct.

Choose the desired service type (Priority Mail, First Class, or what have you) and enter the package size and weight in the Shipment Information section.

Although you can use regular paper, it’s better to use paper with adhesive backing; that way, you don’t have to use tape to attach the label to your package.
