The Following Tab in the Pinterest iPhone App

By Kelby Carr

In Pinterest’s iPhone app, the icon on the far left of the menu on the bottom of the screen is the Following tab. This is the default tab that you see when you launch the app. The Following tab shows you the latest pins from your Pinterest friends. You can return to the Following tab at any time by tapping the Following icon.

When you’re viewing the Following tab, you can scroll down the screen to see more of the latest pins from people and boards you follow. You can also tap an image to go to the original, off-site source of the pin if it has one. Each pin has a Repin and Like button below the pin’s description that you can tap to repin or like it.

To the right of the Repin and Like buttons is a More button. Tap the More button to get these additional options:

  • Comment: Allows you to leave a comment on a pin.

  • Share on Facebook: Use this to post the pin as an update to your Facebook wall.

  • Share on Twitter: This option allows you to share the link on Twitter.

  • Save to Camera Roll: This option puts the image of the pin in your gallery.

Be aware that it’s likely the image is copyrighted by someone else. If it’s a copyrighted image, you shouldn’t share it outside of Pinterest.

  • Email Pin: Sends an e-mail to someone to check out the pin with its direct link.

If you want to save a pin for future reference but don’t want to publicly like or repin it, you can use this option to e-mail it to yourself.
