The Google Search Bar on Your Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK

By Corey Sandler

The official search engine of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK is Google, but you can use a different search engine if you prefer. Remember that Google Search only works if your tablet has an active Wi-Fi connection.

The main Home screen has a Google search bar near the top. It’s in white here.

You’ll recognize it because it says Google on the left, has space in the middle for a search term, and has a microphone icon on the right.

Dictation is a very convenient way to conduct a search.

  1. Tap your finger in the blank space on the Google bar.

  2. Speaking clearly and directly at your tablet, say, “Okay Google.”

If you do it right, you’ll hear a beep and the microphone symbol turns red.

  3. Speak your search command.

Depending on whether you ask a question or state some search terms, and also depending on the speech recognition engine, you may get a spoken answer or a screen full of search results.
