Your Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 NOOK makes life easier and more enjoyable in so many ways. Sure, you can read eBooks on your tablet — but you can also take panoramic pictures, find pictures online, put photos into a slideshow, and play with a music equalizer. And to start your day, pick a specific song for your tablet to wake you up to.

Taking a Panorama Picture with a Galaxy Tab S2 NOOK

Your Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 NOOK takes good panoramic photographs. Shooting wide landscapes with your tablet is easy when you know how to frame your shots. Give it a shot.

  1. Tap the Camera app.

  2. Tap the current mode (in the bottom left).

  3. Tap Panorama.

  4. Brace yourself.

Hold as steady as possible. Pull your elbows into your chest and hold the tablet close while you look through the viewfinder. Breathe slowly. Some photographers even hold their breath.

  5. Tap the Shutter button.

The bottom of the screen fills with thumbnails as you take pictures. Use them to help make your panorama.

  6. Pivot slightly to your right or left.

As you move the camera, you see a green rectangle. The rectangle frames the next shot in the image.

  7. Keep pivoting to fill the frame for the next photo.

The tablet shoots the next image each time you fill the frame properly. The camera expects to take eight images for the panorama.

If you want to take fewer than eight images, tap the Shutter icon to stop.

After you shoot the final image, the tablet stitches (assembles) the panorama. You can see it in the preview screen.

Looking for Online Images with a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 NOOK

Your Samsung Tab S2 NOOK can find images online — but you have to have an active Wi-Fi connection. You can limit your image search to Facebook, Dropbox, and Picasa, if you want to.

  1. Make sure you have an active Wi-Fi connection.

  2. From the main Gallery screen, tap the Menu (three dots) icon in the upper right.

  3. Tap Content to Display.

Choices are based on which services you use.

  4. Tap an option. Here are some typical options:

    • All Content. Every image your tablet can find, from the Tab S2 and its memory card, to online sites you subscribe to.

    • Content in Device. Only images that are stored on the tablet itself.

    • Content in Dropbox. If you subscribe to Dropbox and you put images there.

    • Content in Facebook. Images you posted on the wall or timeline of your Facebook account.

    • Content in Picasa. If you have an account with Google’s photo editing and storage site, and you’ve put images there.

Making a Picture Slideshow on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 NOOK

Show off pictures with a slideshow presentation on your Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 NOOK. Make sure the photos are in the tablet’s Gallery and choose effects. Add music to your slideshow to make it complete. You can even use songs that you’ve downloaded.

  1. In the Gallery app, tap an album.

  2. Tap the Menu icon (three dots) in the upper right.

  3. Tap Slideshow and then tap Effect.

  4. Tap Music to play a tune in the background.

Choose a generic piece or a track you bought.

  5. Tap More to decide how fast slides change.

Also from here, you can play slides from oldest to newest or the other way around.

Using the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 NOOK’s SoundAlive Equalizer

Have some fun with the SoundAlive equalizer in your Galaxy tablet’s Music app. Pump up the bass or kick up frequencies based on genre. Try different equalizer settings while you play a song. Get amped!

  • Basic tab: Categorize a song by genre. This way you can apply a preset equalization that boosts certain frequencies that depends on the type of music. You can also apply amps.

  • Advanced tab: Use the equalizer to adjust the relative intensity of frequencies from 60 Hertz to 14k. Lower cycles are deep bass, and higher cycles are up there in dog whistle land. Adjust any of the seven bands by touching and holding its icon. Move it up to emphasize that frequency; move it down to reduce it. Press and hold the icons at the bottom of the frequency scale:

    • Boost the bass response for rock and roll.

    • Boost the clarity for vocals.

Choosing a Song for the Alarm on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 NOOK

Change that annoying alarm sound on your Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 NOOK. Wake up to a song that you’ve downloaded. If you have to set an alarm to get up, you might as well hear music you’ve bought.

  1. Tap the Music app.

  2. Find a song you like. Press and hold on its name.

  3. Tap Set as Alarm Tone.

Make sure the dot beside the song name is filled.

  4. Tap Done.

  5. Go make the doughnuts.
