How to Add Owner Info Text to Your Samsung Galaxy Tab S

By Dan Gookin

If your Galaxy Tab someday gets lost, it would be nice if a good Samaritan found it. What would be even more helpful is if you had some information on the Lock screen to help that kind person find you and return your Tab.

Follow these steps to add owner information text to the Lock screen:

  1. Visit the Settings app.

  2. Tap the Device tab, and then choose Lock Screen from the categories on the left side of the screen.

  3. On the right side of the screen, choose Owner Information.

  4. Type text in the box.

You can type more than one line of text, though the information is displayed on the Lock screen as a single line.

  5. Ensure that the Show Owner Info on Lock Screen option is selected.

  6. Tap the OK button.

Whatever text you type in the box appears on the Lock screen. Therefore, it’s a good idea to type something useful, as the command suggests: your name, phone number, and email address, for example. This way, should you lose your tablet and an honest person finds it, that person can get it back to you.
