What Does PayPal Buyer Protection Cover?

Some people get nervous using eBay because of the seemingly unprotected nature of anonymous buying. PayPal goes a long way in soothing these concerns. Aside from safety, PayPal offers an even better reason to pay when you shop online through their service. If you've purchased your item through a PayPal-verified seller, and something goes awry, you may be fully covered for your loss.

This protection covers you only for nondelivery of tangible items and tangible items that are received but are significantly not as described — it does not cover items that you are simply disappointed with.

It is a good idea to set up a PayPal account if you plan to be active on eBay. PayPal goes a long way in protecting your money and ensuring you receive money from buyers.

If you've paid with a credit card through PayPal, be sure to make a claim with PayPal first. Do not make a claim with your credit card company. PayPal protection is for PayPal purchases and you are not covered if you've made a claim with your credit card company.
