iPhone for Seniors: Working with the Stocks App

The Stocks iPhone app is a handy little pre-installed app that helps you keep track of your investment portfolio. Stocks is displayed in Notification Center by default, so having your stocks rather than Apple, Google, and Yahoo! which are shown along with the three stock exchanges is much more helpful.

To modify the stocks displayed by Stocks, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Stocks on the iPhone Home screen.

  2. Tap the Menu button in the bottom right corner.

  3. In the following screen, tap the red circular Delete button to the left of any stock, and then tap Delete to remove it from your list.

  4. To add a stock, tap the Add button in the upper left corner.

  5. Enter a company name or a stock symbol and then tap the correct match in the results that appear.

The stock is added to your list.

  6. Tap Done.

Your new mix of stocks and stock exchanges is now shown when you swipe down from the top of your phone screen to display Notification Center.
