How to View Archived Messages about Computer Problems in Windows 7

You can view a list of archived error messages about previous (or existing) computer problems and issues in Windows 7. You’ve probably encountered error messages in Windows 7 before that you didn’t read and just clicked OK or Ignore to continue working.

If at some point you realize that maybe there really is a problem you need to take a closer look at, you can view the archived error messages in Windows 7. To view archived messages for problems that are sent to Microsoft (configured in the Problem Reporting Settings), follow these steps:

Open the Windows Control Panel, and then click System and Security.

The System and Security window appears.

Click Action Center.

The Action Center window appears.

In the left pane, click View Archived Messages.

A list of archived messages about computer problems appears, along with the date encountered and current status. You can double-click a message for more details about an issue (and possibly steps on how to resolve it) or just click OK to close the Archived Messages window.
