How to Distribute Objects Evenly in PowerPoint 2007 Slides

The PowerPoint Distribute Horizontally and Distribute Vertically commands come in handy for laying out objects on your PowerPoint slide. These PowerPoint commands arrange objects so that the same amount of space appears between each one. Rather than go to the trouble of pushing and pulling objects until they are distributed evenly, you can simply select the objects and choose a Distribute command.

Arrange the objects on your slide so that the outermost objects are where you want them. Follow these steps to distribute objects horizontally or vertically on a slide:

1

Select the objects.

You can select objects by Ctrl+clicking on them.

2

Click the Format or Home tab.

Either tab works fine.

3

Click the Align button and choose a Distribute option on the drop-down list.

PowerPoint distributes the objects evenly between the leftmost and rightmost object (if you chose Distribute Horizontally) or the topmost and bottommost object (if you chose Distribute Vertically).
