How to Add a Movie Page to Your iWeb Site in iLife '11

Every iWeb page theme in iLife offers a Movie page template that has a placeholder for a video and video playback controls. To add a Movie page to your iWeb site and place your video on it, follow these steps:

  1. In iWeb, click the Add Page button on the toolbar or choose File→New Page.

    The theme chooser appears.

  2. Select a theme from the list on the left and Movie from the page templates on the right and then click Choose.

The new page appears with a placeholder video.

  3. If the Media Browser isn't open, click Show Media on the toolbar and then click Movies.

The Movies Browser appears on the right side with your iMovie projects that were saved to the Media Browser and video files in your Movies folder.

  4. Choose a video to add.

You can click the Play button at the bottom of the Media Browser to preview the selected video. (Apple calls them movies, though much of the world refers to them as videos.)

Preview the video in the Media Browser before adding it to the Movie page.

  5. Drag and drop the video onto the placeholder in the Movie page.

After you drop the video, it replaces the existing placeholder video.

  6. (Optional) Click the placeholder text below the video and type a caption.
