For Seniors: Update Your iPad's Operating System

It's important to update your iPad's operating system whenever a new iOS (iPad operating system) is released, in order to keep the iPad running in tip-top shape. An operating system update typically adds new features to your iPad, while fixing any problems customers may have encountered.

To make sure you have the latest and greatest features in iPad, update to the latest iOS now (and periodically).

1

Plug the 30-pin end of the Dock Connector to USB Cable into your iPad and plug the USB end into your computer.

The Dock Connector is located along the bottom edge of the iPad.

2

When iTunes opens, click on your iPad (in the Devices section of the Source List on the left side of the screen) and then click the Summary tab if it isn’t already displayed.

The Summary page appears.

3

Read the note next to the Check for Update button to see whether your iOS is up-to-date. If it isn’t, click the Check for Update button.

iTunes checks to find the latest iOS version and walks you through the updating procedure.

A new iOS version may introduce new features for your iPad. If so, go to the iPadMadeClear website for updates on new features introduced in major updates.
