Do you go to a particular website several times a day: for example, an online dictionary or your online stock portfolio? If so, you’ll find that it’s convenient to be able to access your most often-used website(s) from the Start screen with a single click.

Here are the steps to pin sites to the Start screen:

  1. From the Start screen, click the Internet Explorer tile.

  2. Navigate to the website you want to pin to the Start screen.

  3. Right-click and from the set of tools that appears at the bottom of the screen, click the Favorites button (it’s shaped like a star).

  4. Click the Pin to Start button (it’s shaped like a push pin) on the top right of the tools.

  5. In the following screen, enter a name for the website.

  6. Click the Pin to Start button. Your site now appears as a tile on the Start screen.

If you no longer want a website on your Start screen, you can remove it by right-clicking the tile and then clicking the Unpin from Start button in the set of tools that appears at the bottom of the screen.
