For Seniors: Add Web E-Mail to iPad 2

You can send and receive e-mail on iPad 2 – through both regular and web e-mail accounts. Webmail on iPad includes Gmail, Yahoo!, or AOL accounts, and these providers typically use a web page to help you create and send e-mail.

To iPad, regular e-mail is sent other providers, such as Windows Live/Hotmail, Earthlink, Microsoft Exchange, MobileMe/iCloud, and your cable-Internet provider. You set up regular e-mail accounts on iPad in a different way.

Tap the Settings icon on the Home screen, then tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

The mail, contacts, and calendar options appear.

Tap Add Account.

A list of e-mail providers appears.

Tap Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, or AOL.

A dialog box in which you can enter your account information appears.

Enter your e-mail account information.

Type your name, e-mail address, and password for the account in the spaces provided. Type a description that will help you identify the account. A description is especially useful if you have multiple e-mail accounts.

Tap Save.

The account is saved and you can now open it on your iPad using Mail.
