natural numbers; counting numbers: Values starting with one and increasing by one.
negative number: Any quantity that is less than zero; it is usually preceded by a minus sign.
negative reciprocals: Two numbers, one positive and one negative, whose product is –1.
nested: A condition where two or more grouping symbols are inside one another.
number system: A set of numbers.
numerator: The top number in a fraction.
