Perhaps it seems counter-intuitive to take a close-up shot with a telephoto lens. However, it sometimes yields very nice shallow depth-of-field images, such as this image of a Ukrainian matryoshka doll taken in a Kiev street market with a 70-200mm telephoto zoom lens.
