Opening Your Beehive

To open your beehive you need just two items, a smoker and a hive tool. This video demonstrates how to use your smoker effectively and how to properly open the hive to cause as little disturbance as possible. Remember to move slowly as you remove the cover and set the feeder aside and to remove frames one at a time to inspect your bees.
