Turning Off Your TouchPad

Under normal use conditions, it’s usually sufficient to have your TouchPad remain in sleep mode, which blanks the screen and draws minimal power from the battery. If you’re not going to use your device for an extended period, however, or if your TouchPad is experiencing unusual behavior, you may want to shut down or power off completely. Doing so disables all alarms and notifications, as well as all communications capabilities.

The most direct method for powering off is simply holding down the Power button and then tapping Shut Down. For an alternative method, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the Launcher icon on the Quick Launch bar.

  2. Tap Settings; then tap the Device Info icon.

  3. Tap the red Reset Options bar at the bottom of the screen.

  4. Tap Shut Down.

  5. Tap Shut Down again.

Your TouchPad is completely powered off.
