How to Launch the Pictures App on the BlackBerry PlayBook
The pictures app is one of the utilities that come as part of the basic operating system for the BlackBerry PlayBook. You can load it one of three ways:
Go to the home page and tap the All button. Find the pictures app and tap it.
From the home page, tap the Media button to refine your search. Tap the pictures app.
From within the camera app, swipe down from the top frame or bezel to display options. Tap the pictures icon.
All three routes bring you to the same place. You will see folders holding images from various sources. You’re given a choice after launching the app:
Camera Pictures. Here are stored images taken using the front or rear cameras of the BlackBerry PlayBook as well as screen captures.
Photos. This folder holds any images you’ve imported to the PlayBook for display onscreen or output by HDMI.
Wallpaper. A collection of about 25 generic images, supplied by Research in Motion, that can serve as a background image on your home page.
All Pictures. If you choose this option, you can select from all images found on the tablet, including those from the camera, screen captures, uploaded pictures, and wallpaper.
Tap any of the folders to open a display of small (thumbnail) images. You’ll see the name of the folder at the top, in the status bar; at the right side of the status bar, you’ll see the number of images in that folder.
You can show your images in larger-than-life living color on an HD screen. Plug a micro-HDMI to HDMI cable (sold separately) into the connector on the PlayBook and into the corresponding port on a high-definition television or projector.
