How to Find Images on Your Canon EOS 6D

After you download lots of images and edit them on your EOS 6D, you’ll have to find them in lots of folders. Even though the folders are organized by date and each one has the date as the actual folder name, and even though you’ve renamed the images, looking for a single image (or group of images) is like looking for the proverbial needle in the haystack.

You can search for images by image type, star rating, and keywords. You can choose any or all those criteria. When you need to find images of Aunt Millicent, you can easily find them with ImageBrowser EX by following these steps:

  1. Launch ImageBrowser EX and select the root folder for your images.

There’s no place to start like the start.

  2. Click the Filter by File Category, and choose an option from the drop-down menu.

    Choose the desired option.

  3. Click the Filter by Rating icon to search for images by star rating.

After you choose this option, a drop-down list becomes available. You can choose to search for one-, two-, or three-star images, one- and two-star images, two- and three-star images, or one- and three-star images.

  4. Enter the desired keyword in the Search with Text text box.

You can only enter one keyword at a time.

  5. Click the Search icon that looks like a magnifying glass.

The images that match your criteria are displayed in the window as thumbnails.
