Editing Pre-Built Drupal Blocks
There aren't many things you can edit about Drupal’s pre-built blocks. If you click the Configure link next to any of them, you will see a form that allows you to enter a title for the block. Doing so will override any title the block currently uses. All of them also provide you with the visibility options.
Seven of the pre-built blocks have many other options, and none of them are very exciting:
Active Forum Topics: This option lets you control how many active forum topics are listed in this block.
New Forum Topics: This option lets you control how many new forum threads appear in the New Forum Topics list.
Recent Blog Posts: This option lets you control how many recent blog posts appear in the Recent Blog Posts list.
Recent Comments: This option lets you control how many comments by recent site users appear in the Recent Comments list.
Recent Content: This option lets you control how many recent content items appear the Recent Content list.
Who's New: This option lets you control how many users’ names appear in the Who's New list.
Who's Online: You can control which users’ names appear in this block based on how long it’s been since they last clicked a link on your site. This option also controls how many users to list.
