How to Create a Text Box on a PowerPoint 2007 Slide
Click the Insert tab.
The Insert options display.
Open the drop-down list on the Text Box button and choose Horizontal or Vertical.
In a horizontal text box, text reads from left to right; in a vertical text box text reads top to bottom or bottom to top.
Move the pointer to an upside-down cross. Click and start dragging.
Lines appear as you draw the text box, and when you release the mouse button, you see solid lines and selection handles around the box.
Enter the text.
The text box gets longer to accommodate your text.
Select the text box and drag it where you want it to be.
Move the pointer to the perimeter of your text box, and when you see the four-headed arrow, click. Solid lines, not dotted lines, around the text box indicate that it is selected. Make sure that you see the four-headed arrow as you drag. You need to drag the perimeter of the text box.
(Optional) shorten the text box.
Move the pointer over a square selection handle on the top, bottom, or side, and drag.
