How to Manage Files on OneDrive from Your iPad

By Peter Weverka

OneDrive is first and foremost a means of organizing and managing files. This can be a helpful way to keep your iPad cleared of clutter. In your browser, select a file on OneDrive and use these techniques to move, copy, rename, or delete it:

  • Moving a file: Click the Manage button and choose Move To on the drop‐down list. You see a window that lists your OneDrive folders. Select a folder name and click the Move button.

  • Copying a file: Click the Manage button and choose Copy To on the drop‐down list. Then select a folder name and click the Copy button.

  • Renaming a file: Click the Manage button and choose Rename on the drop‐down list. Then enter a new name in the text box.

  • Deleting a file: Click the Manage button and choose Delete on the drop‐down list. (A message window with an Undo button appears for several seconds in case you regret deleting your files. Click the Undo button if you change your mind about deleting.)

To restore a file or folder that you deleted accidently, click Recycle Bin on the OneDrive Navigation bar. In the Recycle Bin window, select the file or folder that you want to resuscitate and click the Restore button.
