By Barbara Obermeier, Ted Padova

Photoshop Elements 14 has added a useful, and easy-to-use, feature to quickly eliminate haze from your photos. Haze, caused by light hitting particle in the air, dust, dirt, and so on, can be further enhanced by weather and time of day. Sometimes, increasing the contrast and sharpness in your image can help to lessen the effect of haze in your image. But with this feature, eliminating it has never been easier.

Here are the steps to eliminate haze from your images:

  1. Open an image in Expert or Quick mode.

  2. Choose Enhance → Haze Removal.

The Haze Removal dialog box appears.

  3. Specify your Haze Reduction setting by adjusting the slider.

Sliding right will increase the amount of haze that is reduced.

  4. Specify your Sensitivity setting by adjusting the slider.

Sliding right will increase the threshold of how much haze is detected.

  5. Toggle your Before and After button to check your results and then click OK.
